Palomino leads $700,000 R&D project

Friday, June 02, 2006

As a university spin-off company, we are all about R&D in leading edge web application design. Today, Palomino Inc. received federal funding awarded by Precarn Incorporated to lead a collaborative R&D project in the size of over $700,000. The project will be to develop NetPal, a self-learning, dynamic knowledge base for system administrators of networked environments.

The NetPal technology will be developed in collaboration with researchers at Dalhousie University, Halifax, and the Telecom Application Research Alliance (TARA), Halifax. Based on the existing Palomino flagship product, WebPal, the application will save large and small companies by cutting down on system administration overhead costs. The system will employ advanced pattern matching and rule extraction technologies and combine these with the proven WebPal Web Content Management System in order to assist network administrators.

"We are very, very excited about this grant. Palomino has already conducted a successful R&D project with Dalhousie in the past and we are looking forward to work together on this project." says Markus Latzel, CEO Palomino Inc. "I believe that NetPal will prove to be an exciting new application for web-based knowledge management."
